Texas License to Carry (LTC), as of 01/01/2016 this is the required course for your license to carry.
Class fee is $80 (there is no range fee)
1) Drivers License or I.D,
2) Handgun (pistol or revolver in a caliber of .32 or higher
3) 100 rounds of ammo (minimum) (NO RELOADS)
4) eye protection
5) hearing protection
6) ball cap/head gear
7) outdoor appropriate footwear/clothing
*This course is designed to be taught in 1 day*
Under certain circumstances (ie: weather) will this class be split into 2 days
The class will be held at WTX Firearms & Education and conlcude at the MIdland Shooters Association Shooting Range.
Class is to begin at 8 am and end at 5:00 pm.

4-6 hours of classroom instruction time, 2-3 hours for written test and shooting profeciencey. To pass the written exam you need a 70% passing score. For the shooting profeciencey a score of 175 out of a possible 250. (target scoring will be discussed in class)
*Be ADVISED, this is NOT a basic handgun or shooting course, prior shooting experience preferred, but not a requirement.
there will be 4 modules (subjects) to cover:
1) Laws that relate to weapons and the Use of Deadly Force,
2) Handgun Use and Safety,
3) Non-Violent Dispute Resolution,
4) and, Proper Storage Practices that Eliminate the possibility of accidental Injury to a Child.

Application Fee to DPS ($140~ you may be eligible for an exemption amount)
Fingerprint fee ($9.95) are payable up to two years after class completion. (All fees are non-refundable) This can be done before or after class.
(These fees are to be paid to The DPS through their online registration process, I will NOT be collecting these fees, I will ONLY be collecting the amount for class)
